Seriously was looking at politicians and leadership, am trying to think how many leaders are politician and how many politician are leaders? It’s rather disappointing to find people who do not care about the purpose of there being elected to the office they hold. For quite some time we been having political leaders who are political forgeting the most important thing leader which they seem to deem obscure.
The question is when we refer to this two people what do we mean? Looking at a definition from political scholars, A Politician is basically a person who has an influence on the government. He can influence the public decision because he is the one who gets a position of a decision maker inside the government or is the one who seeks such kind of positions. Normally, politicians do not have a functional role instead he is at the executive or legislative branch in the government. He has the power to vote the party leader and the leader of the government. He is an active party worker and has influence over politics of a country.
On the other hand who is a leader according to George Patton a great author is a man who can adapt principles to circumstances.
From the two definitions we get the scholars description but let look at it like laymen because at the end of the day its us the people who are affected. Would say politicians politic, and leaders act simply put out. This because for us to have political leaders we have to have people who can have decision made to better our nations than have politics being tossed around aimlessly. I think I speak for many when I say we tired of politics, when are we ever going to build this country from its state to another level? Some would say am ever lamenting and not giving solutions to the problem but we need people to realize everything is not ok. The other day was looking at what the impact of the words from the two principal has on the nation. Trust me fellow Kenyans its traumatic we may not be fighting but we don’t have peace. People from the grassroots are living in fear, the recent tussles of the Prime Minister and the president plus the failed Kilaguni talks made some just resettled IDPs to run for safety for fear of a return violence. Now people can we say they’re leaving peaceful?
This is why I say we lacking leaders we have lots of politician, I wish we could have people like the late Nyerere he sacrificed himself the pleasures and splendor, the glory our politicians crave for and would do anything to have. We lack leaders to serve the people rather than have people leave like slaves you know beg for food beg for water and beg for peace surely can we have leaders standing up. Lets replace these politicians lets have leaders to stand on principles guide the nation through this hour we really need to pass. Wish could say Martha Karua is one but how about her politics I believe she is one hell of a leader but can she take care of politics because its politics that destroy leaders.
We soon going to overcome let’s identify leaders and not politicians we have had enough of them they are just like empty debes out to make noise. People from mashinani haveto be reached let leaders tell them it’s not the 50 shillings from politicians that would help it’s the policies from the true leaders of how to get the 50 shillings that would sustain them. It’s time we took matters to our hands let’s put forward leaders and push out politicians.
